How to Unlock Your Android Phone

Unlocking your Android phone is easy. We’ll show you how.

1. Check your phone’s current lock screen security settings

2. Enable “Unknown sources” in Settings>Security

3. Download a free Android unlock app from the Play Store

Android is an open-source operating system that has been developed by Google since 2003. Android phones are made by dozens of different manufacturers, including Samsung and HTC, and the software is available to anyone who wants to use it.

While most people have their phone unlocked out of the box, there are those who want to keep their device locked down. There are also those who want to use their phone with a service provider or use it as a business tool while keeping the manufacturer’s software locked down.

If you’re one of these people or if you have any concerns about security or privacy, you’ll need to unlock your Android phone before using it for anything else. That said, unlocking a phone isn’t as easy as simply inserting a SIM card and hitting “okay.” It takes more than that — you’ll need to take some steps from here on out if you want to unlock your Android phone.

2. If you have an Android device running 4.2 or higher, tap OK to confirm your decision to allow the device administrator to unlock your phone. Otherwise, tap Cancel to deny the request or Allow to continue with the process.

3. In the next screen, tap OK again if you see a message asking if you want to unlock your phone now. This will take you back to the previous screen where you can choose whether or not to unlock your device. If you’re using an older version of Android, however, this option isn’t available because there is no way for Google Play Store apps on older versions of Android to communicate with each other (although some apps may still work on older versions).

Unlocking your Android phone is a very simple process, even if you don’t have a specific reason for wanting to do so. If you are like most people, there will be times when you want to use another carrier’s SIM card. This can happen for a variety of reasons: maybe you want a better network coverage or prefer the look and feel of the phone’s interface. Or maybe you want to use a different plan with more features. Whatever your reason, it’s easy with unlocked phones.

The first thing that needs to be done is to unlock your phone via IMEI code. This is found on the back of most modern smartphones that are sold by major manufacturers and carriers in the United States and elsewhere around the world. The IMEI number can usually be found by searching online or by using one of the many app stores available for Android devices today. Once you have this number, then all that’s left is to go through the steps outlined below and unlock your device!
