If you have kids, you know how important it is to make sure they are safe. That’s why parental controls are important.

Setting up parental controls can be as simple as turning on the feature in your account settings. It may also be a bit more involved depending on your device and the type of content you want to block.

For example, if you have an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Restrictions and turn on Restrictions under the Parental Controls section. This will allow you to set limits for games and apps that are not allowed on your phone or tablet. You can also restrict which apps can be used with certain functions like making calls (SMS), sending/receiving text messages and accessing social networks like Facebook, Twitter and more.

If you have an Android device like a Google Nexus 5 or 7 (or similar), go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Apps with Permissions, then select Show All Apps for a list of all apps on your device with their permissions enabled or disabled. You can then check off any that should be disabled from being used in order to limit their capabilities further by selecting Disable App from this list

You can use parental controls to set restrictions on what types of games, apps and websites your kids can access. It’s important not to block all access but rather to allow them to have some unsupervised time.

Here’s how to set up Parental Controls:

Go to Settings > General > Restrictions and turn on Restrictions. If you don’t see it, tap the menu button at the top right of your screen and select Restrictions > Turn On Restrictions.

You’ll be prompted to enter your passcode or PIN. This is the same one used for unlocking your device when it’s locked (such as when you’re in a meeting). Enter this passcode or PIN again when prompted by the app or game you’re trying to open.

If you don’t have a passcode or PIN, you can add one from Settings > device info > Security & lock screen (Android 6+) or Settings > Parental Controls (iOS 10+). You can also create a passcode using Touch ID if supported by your device manufacturer.
